Kerin Rose Gold
Crystal artist
June 30, 2026
Kerin Rose Gold’s Manhattan studio is itself a work of art. Its walls and ceilings are painted the colors of the rainbow; her famous bedazzled eyewear winks from rows of neat racks; 3D-printed Labubu-inspired charms (“Lablingblings”) wait to be covered in crystals. Even the bathroom is stunning, with polka-dot wallpaper reminiscent of Yayoi Kusama and a tub filled, delightfully, with disco balls.
Recently, the New York–based artist has brought her signature sparkle into the gallery world, participating in her first group show at Abigail Ogilvy in LA in 2025. There, she showed new sculptural work: soft-edged organic forms with hard crystal surfaces that suggest disco stalagmites. I saw some of these in-progress sculptures when she gave me a tour of her workspace in November, as well as an early version of her Chibi sunglasses, which feature hand-carved acetate anime eyes adorned by tiny crystal inlays and went on sale in March.
Gold founded luxury accessories brand A-Morir Studio in 2008. She toggles easily between producing conceptual artwork and bespoke pieces for celebrity clients like Naomi Osaka and Beyoncé. Her work sheds light on the high level of craftsmanship and creativity that goes into crystal art. “My mission with my art practice is to show that the work can be elevated,” she said. “It’s a really elegant weaving of artistry with technical fabrication skills.”
